3-ring binder

colored pencils

paper and pen or pencil

WHEN YOU COME TO CLASS:

1.      Remove your hat (girls and guys).

2.      Turn off and put away any cell phones, music players, cameras or other electronics.

3.      Don’t eat.

4.      Clean language only.

5.      RESPECT for everybody. Don’t refer to people by their race or country of origin. NO PUT DOWNS.

6.      Start working on the warm-up when the bell rings.

7.      What the teacher says is final.

8.      HALL PASS REQUIRED TO LEAVE CLASS. NO HALL PASS = DON’T EVEN ASK.

TARDIES:

1.      THREE tardies = -1 from your final average.

2.      Every five minutes tardy = 1 tardy. So 15 minutes late = 3 tardies in one day.

3.      If you miss any graded classroom activity because you have an unexcused tardy, you will get a zero for that assignment.

4.      Incentives for arriving on time:

a)      Students who have NO tardies will be exempt from the final exam. You MUST show up to the exam, but you do not have to take it. If you show up late for the exam, you MUST take it. If you have to take the exam and show up late, 5 points will be deducted from your exam grade. If you don’t have to take the exam, but you don’t show up, you will receive a zero for it if you do not have a doctor’s excuse.

b)      Every THREE WEEKS, students who have shown up on time every day will receive 5 bonus points.

IF YOU ARE ABSENT:

If your attendance record does not show an excused absence, you will not be allowed to make up your work. When absent, you have one week to turn in makeup work and take tests or quizzes.

HOMEWORK:

Homework is due by 5 minutes after the bell rings. If you do not do your homework, you will get a zero. NO LATE HOMEWORK ACCEPTED. If you are late to class, you will get a zero for any work turned in before you arrived.

LAB SAFETY:  All students need to follow teachers’ instructions regarding lab safety. This may include wearing goggles, tying back hair, and washing hands before and/or after lab. It also means having a serious attitude. Failure to follow safety instructions will result in removal from lab and a zero for the assignment.

TESTS AND QUIZZES:

Quizzes will NOT be open note. Tests will be open note.

GRADING:

Grading is on a point system. Grades can be seen on http://livermorehs.schoolloop.com.

A NOTE ON ATTENDANCE: Attendance at school is not optional. Not only is it required for you to pass your classes, it is AGAINST THE LAW to cut school. The farther you take your education, the more money you are likely to make. If you don’t show up, you will not pass, and you will have to retake classes.

PARENTS: Please sign up for School Loop. You can check grades at any time and see the class calendar.
